For most of our global and regional eSIM plans, no ID or passport is required (No eKYC). You can simply purchase, download, and connect instantly. However, depending on strict local telecom regulations in a few specific countries, you may be prompted to upload an ID document during checkout.

EgoViet offers a wide variety of flexible data plans tailored to your travel needs. Depending on your destination, you can choose from daily data plans (e.g., 1GB/day or 2GB/day) to fixed total data plans (e.g., 5GB, 10GB, 20GB, or Unlimited) with validity periods ranging from 3 to 30 days. We highly recommend buying and installing your EgoViet eSIM BEFORE you travel.

- You need Wi-Fi to install it: Downloading an eSIM profile requires a stable internet connection. It is much easier and safer to set it up at home rather than hunting for free Wi-Fi at a crowded airport.

- It won't activate until you arrive: Installing the eSIM at home will NOT activate your data plan. Your plan's validity period only starts counting down when you land at your destination and your phone connects to the local network.

EgoViet is a 100% digital platform. We do not have physical retail stores, which means you do not have to wait in long lines at the airport or deal with plastic SIM cards. Everything from purchasing to activation is done instantly online via our website and email.

Instantly! As soon as your payment is successfully processed, our system automatically generates your eSIM profile. You will receive an email containing your QR code and installation instructions within a few minutes.

Your unique QR code and manual activation details are sent directly to the email address you provided during checkout. Please check your inbox (and the Spam/Junk folder just in case). If you created an account with EgoViet, you can also log in to your dashboard to view your active eSIMs.

Yes, absolutely! You do not need a PayPal account to purchase.

We accept all major Credit and Debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) through our secure checkout system. Additionally, we also support Shop Pay for a faster express checkout experience (including installment options where applicable).

You can select your preferred payment method at the final step of the checkout process.

Please contact our 24/7 customer support team immediately via our Live Chat or Contact form. Provide us with your full name, the exact date of purchase, and the payment receipt. We will quickly locate your order and resend the QR code to your correct email.

No, an eSIM cannot be installed on multiple devices simultaneously.

eSIMs are designed for single-device use, meaning once an eSIM is activated on a specific device, it becomes tied to that device and cannot be transferred or reinstalled on another. This restriction ensures security and compliance with carrier policies.

If you need connectivity on multiple devices, you can:

  1. Purchase separate eSIMs for each device.
  2. Use tethering or a mobile hotspot from the device with the active eSIM to share the connection.

Always ensure you install the eSIM on the intended device, as it cannot be reused after removal.

EgoViet eSIM-compatible devices offer the flexibility to install multiple eSIMs. However, the exact number of eSIMs you can store or have active at the same time depends on your device model.

eSIM Storage Capacity:

  • iPhones: Most modern iPhones can store between five and 10 eSIMs.
  • Android Devices (Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Huawei, etc.): These devices typically allow 5-7 eSIMs to be stored.

If your device supports Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA), you can use two eSIMs at the same time for added convenience while traveling.

If you're within eSIM coverage, you can use it right after purchase — just follow the instructions to set it up and connect.

If you're not yet in a coverage area, you'll need to wait to use your eSIM. In most cases, you can still set up your eSIM right after purchase.

When you're ready to use eSIM, make sure it's enabled and selected for data—this is essential for it to connect to networks within coverage.

Where does my eSIM work?

Your eSIM will only work within its coverage area — for example, an eSIM for France will only work in France.

If you install an eSIM before you're within its coverage area, you won't be able to use it — even if you've followed the steps to connect to the network.

When can I install my eSIM?

As soon as possible, whenever you have a stable internet connection. Before installing, make sure you've read the plan's validity policy — some plans will start immediately when you install the eSIM (even if you're out of coverage).

What is the validity policy for eSIM?

The validity policy specifies when the eSIM plan's validity period begins — you can find this information in the plan details before or after purchasing an eSIM.

In most cases, the validity period begins when the eSIM connects to a supported network within its coverage area. This means that if you install the eSIM while outside of coverage, the validity period will begin when you arrive.

In some cases, the validity period begins as soon as the eSIM is installed on the device. This means that if you install the eSIM while out of coverage, the validity period will start before you can use the eSIM.

What is the validity period?

The validity period is the time allocated to your eSIM package. If you purchased an eSIM with 1 GB of data for 7 days, the validity period is 7 days.

Please note that data capacity is allocated for the entire validity period — not by day.

YES. To connect to the local partner network at your destination, you must turn ON Data Roaming specifically for your EgoViet eSIM line. Rest assured, since EgoViet is a prepaid data plan, you will never face unexpected roaming charges from us!

EgoViet partners with top-tier local telecom operators globally. Depending on your chosen plan, the local network infrastructure at your location, and your device capabilities, you will experience blazing-fast 4G/LTE or 5G speeds.

The most accurate way is to check your smartphone's built-in data tracker.

- iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Current Period Roaming (or check the data usage under your eSIM profile).

- Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage.

It depends on whether you run out of data or your plan's time limit expires:

- If you use up your high-speed data limit: You will NOT lose your connection! EgoViet provides unlimited basic data, meaning your internet speed will simply be reduced (throttled) to a lower speed (usually around 128kbps - 256kbps). This is perfectly sufficient for sending text messages via WhatsApp, Zalo, or Messenger.

- If your plan validity period expires (e.g., your 7 days are up): The eSIM profile will expire, and your internet connection will stop working completely.

Yes! Mobile Hotspot (Tethering) is fully supported on the vast majority of EgoViet eSIM plans. You can share your internet connection with your laptop, tablet, or travel companions.

Yes, you can use WhatsAppp with your eSIM plan like normal.
When setting up your eSIM, you can keep your WhatsApp number, and all conversations as well as contacts.
It is no need to worry about being lost of contact while traveling abroad. However, remember that making video calls with WhatsApp uses up a lot of data. Instead you had better send message whenever possible.

Yes, you can use iMessage with your eSIM like normal.
When you set up an eSIM, you will keep all contacts and conversations in iMessage.
You should not worry about falling out of touch with your friends and family while traveling abroad. You can refer how to use iMessage for international travel here.

NO. NEVER DELETE YOUR eSIM. If you delete the eSIM profile from your phone's settings, it is permanently destroyed and cannot be recovered or re-scanned. If you face connection issues, try turning the eSIM off and on, but do not delete it.

You should only delete the EgoViet eSIM profile from your phone settings after your trip is completely over, you have returned to your home country, and the plan has fully expired.

To make your data last longer: Turn off Background App Refresh, disable automatic app updates over cellular networks, avoid streaming high-definition videos, and download maps for offline use while on hotel Wi-Fi.

No. All EgoViet travel eSIMs are strictly Data-Only plans designed to provide you with the most cost-effective internet access. They do not come with a local phone number.

Because EgoViet eSIMs are data-only, traditional cellular voice calls and standard SMS are not supported. However, you can easily make high-quality voice/video calls and send messages using internet-based apps like WhatsApp, Zalo, Messenger, FaceTime, Skype, and iMessage.

Yes. You can configure your phone to use your primary physical SIM for Calls and SMS, while designating the EgoViet eSIM exclusively for Cellular Data. (This is a standard Dual SIM feature available on most modern smartphones).

Yes, you can receive phone calls if you leave your primary physical SIM card turned on.

However, please be aware that receiving traditional calls or SMS while abroad may incur expensive international voice roaming fees directly from your home carrier. EgoViet is not responsible for these third-party charges.

*Tip: To avoid these fees, we recommend using VoIP apps (WhatsApp, FaceTime) over your EgoViet data connection.*

You can receive SMS and traditional phone calls on your primary phone number while using the EgoViet eSIM for internet.

To do this safely without incurring expensive Data Roaming charges from your home carrier, follow these steps:

On iOS (iPhone):

1. Go to Settings > Cellular.

2. Tap your Primary Line and make sure "Turn On This Line" is enabled. CRITICAL: Ensure that "Data Roaming" is OFF for this primary line.

3. Go back to Cellular, tap Default Voice Line, select your Primary Line.

4. Tap Cellular Data, select your EgoViet eSIM, and ensure "Allow Cellular Data Switching" is OFF.

On Android (Samsung / Pixel):

1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.

2. Set Calls and Messages to your Primary SIM.

3. Set Mobile Data to your EgoViet eSIM.

4. In Mobile Networks settings, ensure Data Roaming is OFF for your Primary SIM, but turned ON for your EgoViet eSIM.

If you are using a Data-Only eSIM, you generally should not receive personal SMS messages on it. If you do receive text messages, they are likely automated system alerts or welcome messages broadcasted by the local network provider that your eSIM has connected to. You can safely ignore them.

First, ensure your phone is connected to a strong Wi-Fi network when scanning.

If the camera scan still fails, you can install the eSIM manually by entering the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code. These details are provided in the same email as your QR code. Simply choose the "Enter Details Manually" option during the eSIM installation process.

Search your email inbox and spam folder for an email from "EgoViet". If you still cannot find it, please contact our support team with your order details, and we will resend it.

*Note: If you have already successfully scanned the QR code and then accidentally deleted the profile from your phone settings, the QR code becomes permanently invalid and we cannot issue a replacement.*

If your device is carrier-locked (often the case with phones purchased on a contract from AT&T, Verizon, etc.), an eSIM will not work. You must contact your home mobile carrier and request them to unlock the device before you can install any travel eSIM.

Please verify three critical settings:

1. Ensure the EgoViet eSIM is toggled ON.

2. Ensure Data Roaming is toggled ON specifically for the EgoViet line.

3. Ensure the EgoViet eSIM is selected as the primary source for "Cellular Data" (or Mobile Data).

If all settings are correct but you still have no connection, try turning Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds and then off, or simply restart your phone to force a network reconnection.
